Company is seeking a talented Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join their team and take on a technical leadership role. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative, world-class products. Your expertise in mechatronics and robotics will be instrumental in guiding the team towards success.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead a team of mechanical engineers in the design and development of complex products with multiple powered degrees of freedom.
- Product Design: Design, build, and test systems and critical components, ensuring they meet performance requirements and align with product specifications.
- Concept Evaluation: Brainstorm, design, and compare potential product architectures to identify the most effective solutions.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct critical engineering analyses and tests to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Project Management: Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Client Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, effectively communicating project progress and addressing their needs.
Qualifications
- BSME required, MSME preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical system-level design, from architectural definition to manufacturing
- Strong mechatronics expertise, including motors, bearings, gear trains, belt drives, and sensors
- Experience with motion control hardware, such as motors and position sensors
- Proficiency in Solidworks CAD and FEA
- Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience with system bring-up and integration
- Knowledge of ME analysis in kinematics, structural, thermal, and tolerances
- Expertise in materials and component selection
- Experience with life science instruments or medical device design is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
