A leading innovator in specialty surgical equipment seeks a seasoned Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge operating room solutions. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for driving the design, development, and launch of complex patient support structures, electromechanical systems, and related components. This role requires a proven track record of success in leading cross-functional teams and delivering innovative solutions that meet stringent performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for complex mechanical engineering projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop novel patient support structures, electromechanical systems, and related components.
- Conduct advanced design and analysis, leveraging FEA, CFD, and other simulation tools to optimize product performance.
- Develop and implement robust design verification and validation plans to ensure product safety and efficacy.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, develop contingency plans, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and regulatory affairs teams to translate customer needs into innovative product solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical device or related industry.
- Proven track record of leading complex product development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Deep expertise in the design and development of patient support structures, electromechanical systems, and related components.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and solution development.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
