The Company is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive the evolution of their manufacturing processes, aligning with their vision of a truly circular lifecycle through AI, automation, and advanced manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with the Automation Engineer and other teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and environmental responsibility.
This is a full-time, non-hybrid, on-site position in the SF Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization:
- Assess and refine current manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
- Drive initiatives for improved production scheduling and worker performance evaluation systems.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:
- Advocate for Lean initiatives, focusing on waste reduction and continuous improvement.
- Apply 6S guidelines to maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness in production areas.
- Quality Management:
- Lead efforts towards ISO 9001 certification, developing robust quality management systems.
- Conduct root cause analyses on production issues to inform process improvements.
- Factory Layout & Efficiency:
- Optimize factory layout for improved workflow, space utilization, and automation integration.
- Utilize time and motion studies to refine operations for maximum efficiency.
- Integrate additive manufacturing platforms into the layout for enhanced efficiency.
- Automation Integration:
- Collaborate with Automation Engineers to identify, implement, and optimize automation within manufacturing processes.
- Ensure automation projects align with process optimization goals.
- Workstation Design & Specification:
- Design ergonomic and efficient workstations that are ready for automation integration.
- Incorporate sustainability considerations into workstation design, focusing on materials and energy use.
- Project Management:
- Manage manufacturing process improvement projects and automation implementation projects.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership:
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and manufacturing personnel.
- Sustainability Initiatives:
- Implement sustainability initiatives into the manufacturing process.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work on-site most of the time.
- Experience leading ISO9001 certification efforts.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and 6S methodologies.
- Experience with factory layout optimization and time and motion studies.
- Experience implementing automation into manufacturing processes.
- Strong project management skills.
