Based in San Jose, CA, you'll collaborate closely with an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager, Power Electronics, and be surrounded by a team equally committed to making a difference.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and design: Develop & redesign key assemblies for power electronics.
- Expert packaging: Design sheet metal & structural components for high-voltage, high-current systems.
- Analytical mind: Perform detailed calculations & FEA for thermal, stress & fluid dynamics.
- Detailed documentation: Create & update fabrication drawings & BOMs, maintaining clear support documentation.
Qualifications:
- CAD mastery: Proficient in 3D modeling & CAD (SolidWorks, OnShape).
- FEA expertise: Utilize FEA software to analyze thermal, stress & fluid dynamics.
- Thermal specialist: Understand conduction, natural/forced convection for effective thermal design.
- Experienced designer: Possess 5+ years of experience in product design, from concept to production.
- Plumbing proficiency: Have 3+ years of experience with plumbing & pump selection.
- Electronics packaging expert: Demonstrate proven experience with high-voltage, high-current systems.
- Electrical knowledge: Possess a basic understanding of electrical fundamentals.
Bonus points for:
- Enclosure design: Lead design of NEMA 3R electrical equipment enclosures.
- Testing & troubleshooting: Create test plans, analyze failures & implement fixes.
