Our client designs and builds products for OEMs in the recreational marine and automotive industries, among others, imagining, developing, and improving both the functionality and the aesthetics of what they make.

They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to be a key member of the team, developing and implementing mechanical solutions for new product development while managing constraints in space, time, cost, manufacturing, and structural integrity.

This is a full-time role based in the client's Greater San Jose, CA area office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement mechanical solutions, including new product development, while managing constraints in space, time, cost, manufacturing, and structural integrity.
• Design and modify mechanical assemblies.
• Actively participate in design discussions and supplier conversations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 15 years of experience in new product design and development.
• Proven experience in mechanical design of equipment parts/automation using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with CNC machining and additive manufacturing technology, and their limitations.
• Hands-on, and comfortable finding creative solutions to design challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and enjoys collaborating with others to solve problems.
