Our client is looking for a passionate and results-oriented Manufacturing Operations Lead to join the team in San Diego!

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes while fostering a culture of innovation and craftsmanship. You will report to the CEO (currently) with a planned transition to reporting to the Head of Product Creation in the future.

Responsibilities:

Lead and Inspire:

• Direct the operation of production departments and guide team leaders to achieve peak performance.
• Cultivate a positive work environment that prioritizes quality, safety, respect, transparency, and professional growth.
• Collaborate with department heads and finance to identify talent needs and develop clear job specifications.
• Oversee the entire employee lifecycle on the shop floor, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.

Plan and Deliver:

• Translate the business plan and budget into actionable production plans and priorities.
• Guide and approve production schedules to guarantee on-time deliveries and achievement of all goals.
• Establish and monitor rigorous standards for workshop safety, quality, and production output.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of parts and supplies to support the production plan.
• Partner with finance on inventory tracking and ensure smooth accounting closes.
• Oversee the accuracy of product Bills of Materials (BOM) for precise margin and price planning.
• Manage vendor setup, order tracking, and ensure accurate receipt of goods.
• Identify and integrate strategic outsourcing partners into the production process.
• Supervise shipping and logistics operations.
• Oversee robust testing and quality assurance (QA) systems.
• Spearhead initiatives to measure and improve quality, team satisfaction, cost reduction, and overall financial performance goals.
