The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for designing innovative and high-quality operating room equipment, including patient support structures, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic actuators, and accessories.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, a passion for product innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design metal, plastic, and carbon composite patient support structures that meet stringent requirements for stiffness, strength, stability, reliability, and cost.
• Develop user-actuated mechanisms and electro-mechanical drive trains to optimize patient positioning, surgical access, and applied traction.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to drive product development from concept to production.
• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturing.
• Continuously contribute to product improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Participate in vendor selection, sustaining engineering, QC inspection, and material review board activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and designers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including testing methods.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• 8-12 years of experience in product design, with a strong emphasis on mechanical engineering.

• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks.

• Proven ability to create innovative solutions for mechanical part and assembly design.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with electromechanical design, including motor selection, couplings, bearings, gearbox design, drivetrain integration, sensor integration, and electronics packaging. 1. www.learn4good.com
