Our client is seeking a SolidWorks CAD Designer to support their engineering team as a valued contractor transitions off the account. This is primarily a support role, working closely with a small group of engineers on 2D drawings and tolerancing, with 3D design work preferred.
This is a contract role, primarily onsite in the client's Greater San Jose, CA area office, with some flexibility (about 1 day/week offsite).
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain 2D drawings with tolerancing for injection molded, die cast, and machined parts.
- Support 3D CAD design work in SolidWorks as needed.
- Partner closely with a small internal engineering team to keep design and documentation moving.
- Support process instruction documentation, as needed.
Requirements
- Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks.
- Experience producing 2D drawings and tolerancing.
- 3D design experience preferred.
- Experience with injection molded, die cast, and machined parts.
- Familiarity with process instruction documentation is a plus.
- Comfortable working closely with a small team of engineers in a support capacity.
